3. STATEMENT OF THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE(S) AND OTHER INGREDIENT(S)

Flumethrin 3,6 mg
4. INDICATION(S)
The product is recommended to treat the honey bees against the infection caused by the Varroa destructor.
5. CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use with other product against varroosis at the same time.
Do not use with other products against nosema at the same time.
The product cannot be administered in case of Hypersensitivity to the active substance.
6. ADVERSE REACTIONS
Not known.
If you notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in this package leaflet, please inform your veterinary surgeon.
7. TARGET SPECIES
Honey bees (Apis mellifera)
8. DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The product is usable only in the bee hives.
In case of well-developed, healthy colonies, 4 strips should be administered.
In case of weak colonies, young and artificial colonies, which do not the half of the frames, can be treated with half dose, 2 strips.
Diagnose
Before placing the strips into the bee hive, a white paper should be placed at the bottom of the bee-hive, under the mite grid.
The strips should be left in the bee hive for at least 24 hours, then after removing the strips, the number of the fallen mites should be inspected. If during the diagnostic treatment the number of the fallen mites does not increase compared to the number before the treatment, then the use of another product with different active substance is recommended (e.g.: Perizin).
Treatment:
The treatment should last at least 15 days, but not long than 6 weeks, then the strips should be removed from the bee hive.
9. ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
The Bayvarol strips should be placed in the middle of the brood, in the bee spaces, in a way that enables the bees to move on the whole surface of the strip. In order to achieve this crook the shoulders on the upper side of the strips to the same direction, and hang them from the upper side of frames.
In case if the well-developed colonies, where the brood can be find in more than one frame – depending on the size of the bee-hive- two strips can be together at their bottom side.
The biggest effectiveness can be expected when the Bayvarol is used in late summer, after the extraction.
The Bayvarol can be used for diagnose and treatment in the whole year, in case if the survival of the colony is at stake.
Nowadays the responsible beekeeping requires the systematic inspection of the level of the varroa infection in a representative apiary, and it also requires a unique full year program for the apiary to control Varroosis.

11. SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25 °C.
Protect from light.
Store in a dry place.
The aluminium package should be opened directly before use.
12. SPECIAL WARNING(S)
The resistance can be developed against any kind of products for the varroosis, if they have the same active substance and if they are used exclusively, and often.
Responsible use of the product
In order to decrease the possibility of the development of the resistance against pyrethroids, it is recommended to use the flumethrin with other non pyrethroids product against the varroosis in a unique full year program to control Varroosis.
If the product is used in a way that does not follow the instructions for the administration described in the leaflet, than the number of mites resistant to pyrethroids can increase.
Do not use the strips more than 6 weeks, and do not use the used strips again, because that can increase the possibility of the development of the resistance.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
It is forbidden to eat, to drink or to smoke during the administration of the product.
After handling the strips, wash your hand before the eating and after work.
13. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your veterinary surgeon how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures should help to protect the environment.
